Blockchain Startups 2nd Demo Day
More than 150 people joined our second Demo Day, to find out what 5 of Europe’s most promising blockchain startups have been working in the last 6 months
On 30 June, 3pm CET (Brussels time), the top 5 startups from BlockStart’s second acceleration programme presented their MVPs and the pilots they’ve implemented in end-user SMEs.
In addition to the pitch presentations, participants learned from the personal experience of Carla Puel and David Chreng-Messembourg, VC investors at LeadBlock Partners, a blockchain-focused VC fund. Carla and David shared tips on getting VC funding, key highlights on funding, maturity, product use cases and success stories in the B2B Blockchain ecosystem.

Our keynote speakers
Carla is a VC Associate at LeadBlock Partners, a blockchain focused venture capital fund investing in B2B Blockchain/Digital Assets solutions. She started her career in a Chinese corporate venture capital fund, helping them to settle an office in the UK and to identify investment opportunities in European tech startups. This is where she first came across blockchain technology, four years ago. Carla joined LeadBlock Partners in 2020 transitioning from Investment Banking at Natixis, to support the team in the sourcing and screening of B2B blockchain startups worldwide.
David is a tech investor and entrepreneur, co-founder of LeadBlock Partners, a blockchain focused venture capital fund investing in B2B Blockchain/Digital Assets solutions. He started his career as a biophysics research scientist – this also when he first learned about blockchain technology, a decade ago. His scientist and data background was applied to many industries, including Healthcare, Financial Services, FMCG, Commodities. David has been an investor and advisor for tech startups for years, sitting on advisory boards, judge panels of incubators, hackathons, etc. He is also a guest lecturer and speaker in Universities, giving presentations on various topics from venture capital, blockchain technology to career talks.
