Co.Mo is operating in the motorcycle sector since 1981 and is currently official BMW Motorrad dealers for the province of Frosinone.

As part of their journey on BlockStart’s 2nd Acceleration Programme, as an SME adopter, they were looking for new opportunities for collaboration with technology providers of DLT/blockchain solutions that could improve their business. This is the testimonial of their experience in our programme.

In one paragraph, what is Co.Mo?

Co.Mo. is a company with 40 years of experience in the motorcycle sales and service sector.
The family management makes it flexible in procedures and able to satisfy the requests of the most demanding customers.

What is Co.Mo passionate about achieving?

We would like to achieve a high level of efficiency in assisting our customers.
The use of advanced technology should allow us to be proactive towards our customers.

Can you tell us why you have decided to apply to BlockStart’s 2nd Call for end-user SMEs?

We believe that the Blockstart program can allow us to get closer to new technologies, blockchains in this case, by exchanging the time we dedicate to experimenting with prototypes with the acquisition of experience in the use of these technologies.
The adoption of these technologies will allow us to provide our customers with exclusive assistance services.

What major challenges have you faced during the implementation/testing of BlockStart’s blockchain-based solution?

The biggest challenge was finding time to document the activities.
It was easy to find the bikes for testing and it was just as easy to install and configure the device under test.
The direct assistance channel with the company with which we collaborated was of great help.

What kind of impact do you think the blockchain-based solution you have implemented in the scope of BlockStart may bring to your company?

After having experimented the MOBD on our motorcycles we will install it on the motorcycles of the most loyal customers and more willing to experiment.
Our customers have a lot of confidence in our ability to service our bikes.
We believe that the use of MOBD is an added value for our customers, a way to always stay in contact with those who take care of their bikes.

Where do you see your company in 5 years?

We would like to consolidate our relationship with BMW, which has lasted since 1994.
Our customers are used to closely following the maintenance activities on their motorcycles.
At the moment we suffer from the size of our commercial premises which do not allow us to grow as we would like.
We do not want to become giants in the sector but we would like to work in a more comfortable environment, for us and for our customers.
