BlockStart is excited to partner with the European Blockchain Convention, the leading European event for the blockchain industry. The 5th edition of the event will be held virtually between 12 and 16 April 2021

The European Blockchain Convention (EBC) was founded in early 2018 by Victoria Gago and Daniel Salmerón with the mission to accelerate the blockchain ecosystem in Europe. The first edition was launched in Barcelona in 2018 and, since then, it has brought together thousands of the world’s brightest minds from founders to investors, regulators, developers, corporations, and many more, to discuss the role blockchain technology will play in the future.

The EBC is currently the leading blockchain event in Europe. This one-week comprehensive and multisectoral event tries to outmatch itself every year by inviting inspiring keynotes and by delivering high-level quality blockchain content through panel discussions and workshops. Everything from regulation and future challenges to new blockchain trends and technologies goes through this event, where one-to-one meetings and networking opportunities bring value to all involved in the European blockchain ecosystem.

Since its start, BlockStart has been part of this thriving European ecosystem through its acceleration programme, fostering blockchain adoption across the EU and supporting innovative and tech-driven startups in the areas of ICT, fintech and retail to further develop, test and implement their blockchain solutions, helping them grow their business. Run by a team of 3 partners – Bright Pixel, CIVITTA and F6S – it has just launched its 3rd and final Open Call, that will remain open until 26 May at 5pm CET (Brussels Time).

The BlockStart-EBC collaboration

Due to their roles in the European blockchain ecosystem, BlockStart and the EBC have decided to join forces and cooperate, helping the ecosystem to drive important discussions in ICT, fintech and retail sectors using blockchain and helping to progress this technology forward. Backed by the visibility provided by the EBC, BlockStart will have the chance to further disseminate its Open Call #3 to a broader community of startups, and previously BlockStart supported startups will also have the opportunity to pitch before an audience of interested corporates and investors.

But this is not all! Throughout the course of this collaboration, that will extend until February 2022, BlockStart is expected to actively participate in EBC events, and the 3rd BlockStart Demo Day is expected to be co-organized between the two entities. The EBC will help BlockStart by leveraging its visibility and that of the startups it supports, as the project enters its final year.

BlockStart’s Open Call #3

In its 3rd and final Open Call, BlockStart is looking for early and growth-stage blockchain/DLT startups from all over the EU and H2020 Associated Countries in the fields of fintech, ICT and retail. This programme will provide startups with access to a variety of perks, including equity free funding of up to €20.000, access to piloting opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to investors and advisors.
