Have you ever wondered what it would be like to do a pitch aboard a boat? That’s exactly what BlockStart came up with and made true.
Bright Pixel and UTRUST teamed up again to connect ambitious blockchain/ DLT startups and SMEs with investors, business angels and the tech industry at a unique satellite event during the Web Summit (#websummit2019) in Lisbon. The onboarding was a breeze! Top blockchain startups and SMEs had the chance to network while watching challenging pitches taking place during a boat ride on the river Tagus right in front of them.

“The Web Summit is a privileged moment in which some of the most innovative blockchain technology-based startups are concentrated in Lisbon. This area has deserved our attention at Bright Pixel, and we currently have an example of successful MVP – Taikai – in our portfolio, and we want to help more solutions grow now under this new European program,” said Celso Martinho, co-founder and CEO of Bright Pixel.
The BlockStart consortium, led by Bright Pixel, in partnership with the management consultancy CIVITTA and tech community F6S, aims to help small and midsize businesses realize the potential of blockchain technology. The program will offer up to €20,000 equity free in funding, mentoring and the possibility of making commercial pilots.
The first of three calls will open by the end of November and will focus on retail, finance and information technology companies.
